Georgina’s has received some wonderful compliments from a wide selection of customers since we opened. Here are just some of the great reviews we’ve had … and our sincere thanks to all those who went to the trouble of leaving them on Trip Adviser.
“We have had lunch at Georgina’s many times and have never been disappointed. Their burger is especially good. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Recommended!”

“Having been to Betty’s and other cafes in York, I can certainly say this one gets my vote. It does get busy and I can see that there would be a wait, but it would be worth waiting for. After our breakfast and a short walk around the shops we returned for tea and cake which was again fantastic! Well done Georginas you have a cafe and staff to be proud of!”

“Coffee and cake was worth dying for as it was the best coffee/walnut cake I have tasted. Starbucks, eat your heart out, this is how coffee and cake should be enjoyed.”

“ … Georgina’s … proved to be a very good choice and we enjoyed an excellent light lunch and coffee at very reasonable prices.
A word too about the young staff who were very friendly and efficient. Being graduation Friday at The Minster, the city was very busy and Georgina’s was bustling.

“… we were glad we never came across what would have been our original choice [of cafe]. We did pass Betty’s, however, with the inevitable queue and we wondered just why people were prepared to wait in the street for more expensive fare when Georgina’s has all you want not very far away.”

“Wandered in by chance. Food turned out to be excellent, quality ingredients and well presented. Service attentive, polite, and when cleaning vacated table next to us waitress covered spray bottle nozzle with cloth before wiping so not to cover us or food with fumes or spray – Nice touch much appreciated.”

“Found Georgina’s in TripAdvisor … I explained it was for a birthday treat. They really entered into the spirit of the occasion, offering to make favourite puddings and to book us an excellent table, banners and balloons were kindly offered (although declined). When we arrived there was an enormous queue, but we were whisked upstairs to our first floor window table, with a welcoming note.
The service was excellent, attentive and very friendly. The Cafe itself, a charming quirky place in a lovely little street. Would recommend highly – Thanks Georgina’s for making our visit so special.”

“We visited here for breakfast, it was absolutely lovely, a delightful little find … the Cafe had some lovely touches and was spotlessly clean. Next time I visit York, the cake will be tried out!! Go there, lovely experience. Lovely features in the tea rooms and the history of the building on the menu was a lovely touch too.”

“It was such a charm to dine here at Georgina’s away from home. We are visiting from the United States and cannot stress at what a lovely experience we found at this amazing cafe! Everything looked so lovely and fresh! The cakes…oh the cakes they look absolutely amazing.
I recommend Georgina’s Cafe to anyone…and we cannot wait to add it to the list of things to do on our next return to the U.K.”

“Having just read an earlier review, it appears that “the gentleman playing the piano” is, in fact, me! I`d just like to add that my regular visits to Georgina`s are a hugely important part of my working day. The food, the ambience and the service are second to none. When, time and again, one is reminded of the fragility of ideals, Georgina`s provides a haven from the “madding crowd”. All the very best to Claire and all the girls who work there.”
